Universidade de Santiago de Compostela
Along with Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) promoted the RedEmprendia initiative back in 2006. In the original group took part Universidade de São Paulo, Universidad Católica de Chile and Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. Lastly, RedEmprendia was launched thanks to the support of Banco Santander's División Global Santander Universidades and Universia.
With more than 500 years of history, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela is an institution that looks to the future, beyond its natural limits, developing its prestigious research and teaching activities to identify and meet the needs of society. It is a historic, enterprising and dynamic university, with an International Excellence Campus: Campus Vida.
Notably, USC encourages research projects with a clear socio-economic vocation and is responsible for studies and findings in emerging fields and crucial areas such as Pharmacogenomics or Biotechnology. Since the very beginning, it cooperates closely with Galician key industries: food and agriculture, and fishery.
Two thirds of the funds raised by USC for research purposes come from public administrations, and the remaining third from private companies.
During the last few years, USC has positioned itself among the elite in national and international patent licensing and licensing revenue.
